A BDS Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree and the title of Doctor (Dr) are awarded upon successful completion of this well-liked undergraduate dentistry programme! It is the second option that students choose in the field of medical education, after the MBBS programme.

After successfully completing the four-year academic programme and the one-year required internship programme in dental education leading to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree programme, the BDS degree is granted. You are eligible to work as a dentist once you have earned your BDS.

Admission Procedure

Students who have completed their 12th grade and have completed Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) in addition to English in their 12th stream from an accredited board are eligible to enrol in this programme. Additionally, the candidate must have received at least 50% in PCB topics (most institutes do have minimum marks requirements).

Entrance exams will be used for the BDS programme admissions process. Students may participate in entrance exams held at the national or university levels. Most often, NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) is taken into account for granting admission to BDS programmes.

Students who pass the exam must take part in the counselling session held by the relevant authority. Candidates’ seats will be allocated based on their ranking, filled preferences, and the availability of seats.

DURATION
