This full-time, two-year residential program views management as an integrated process and aids students in developing a global perspective and responding effectively to changes in the economic, technological, cultural, and political environments. The two-tiered structure of a post-graduate degree in management includes a core curriculum (compulsory credit courses and compulsory non-credit courses), a summer internship (required industry training between the first and second years), and elective courses (optional courses in the second years).The first year is devoted to establishing the foundations of business through required courses in organizational behavior, marketing, operations, and systems. Total Number of MBA-I and MBA-II Credit Points

A student must obtain a minimum of 93 credit points (excluding term papers) and a maximum of 105 credit points throughout the program in order to successfully complete it. This takes into account all IIMC required and elective courses, STEP courses, and the summer project (as a required pass/fail credit course), among other things. The term paper(s) are not to be included in the required minimum number of credits.


For executives with more than five years of work experience, IIM Calcutta offers the MBA for Executives Program, a one-year, full-time residential program. The admissions procedure at IIM Calcutta is divided into two sections. In the first stage, IIM Calcutta publishes a shortlist based on CAT score. For IIM Calcutta MBA admission, the minimum CAT cutoff is 85 percentile. However, the real threshold remains in the 98-99 percentile range. Stage 2 will consist of an online Personal Interview (PI) and no Group Discussion (GD). IIM Calcutta will consider overall performance in the CAT and Personal Interview, Academic Record, Work Experience, Gender Diversity, and WAT in the final MBA selection. Graduation score will be removed from IIM Calcutta’s final MBA selection criteria in 2023.
