In Ranchi, Jharkhand, India, there is a public business school called the Indian Institute of Management Ranchi (IIM Ranchi, IIM-R). Under the 11th Five Year Plan, IIM Ranchi was founded in Ranchi on December 15, 2009, and classes started there on July 6, 2010.

The government is considering increasing the autonomy of IIMs by allowing them to choose the director and the chairman of the board of directors, Union Minister Kapil Sibal stated in April 2011.

Campus
Since its founding in 2009, IIM Ranchi has operated from a temporary campus in Suchana Bhavan, located in the center of Ranchi behind the Governor House grounds, with student housing in Khelgaon. On a 60 acre tract in Dhurwa, the institute began shifting to a permanent campus in 2021.

- E-MBA applicants are welcome, and the deadline to submit an application is August 1. Applying is done by going to the college’s official website.
