Which option—IIM Ranchi or IIM Udaipur—would be the greatest in the present?

The three new IIMs, IIM Udaipur, IIM Ranchi, and IIM Trichy, are all in the top 3, so picking one over the other is typically a question of preference. As far as I’m aware, Udaipur does better when compared to other countries in rankings such as QS, FT, and NIRF in research, etc. This is quite promising for the institute’s future. The superior option in terms of placements is IIM Ranchi. The two institutes are compared in the following table.

Which IIM—Ranchi, Rohtak, Raipur, or Udaipur—should I choose? Then why?

IIM Ranchi may be the best option among IIMs like IIM Rohtak, IIM Raipur, and IIM Udaipur for a number of reasons. First off, despite being an IIM, IIM Ranchi is still developing its reputation and is still very new. IIM Ranchi, on the other hand, is a reputable organization with a lengthier track record that can be relied upon for its campus, professors, and placements.

Why should I pick IIM Ranchi’s HR program over XLRI?

The first institution in India to provide a specialist curriculum in human resources management was XLRI, founded in 1958. It is well-known for luring prestigious corporate enterprises to hire its students and is frequently listed as one of India’s top private business schools. A gathering place for some of the world’s top minds, XLRI has a long history of developing outstanding business executives. The XLRI campus offers a distinctive environment with a calm and green setting, excellent classmates, and a variety of extracurricular activities that help students develop their personalities and get ready for the demands of the corporate world.

Which of the New IIMs (Ranchi, Raipur, etc.), MDI, IIFT Kolkata, and IIT-B (SJMSOM) with a focus on finance would be a better choice?

The best colleges for finance among these are IIFT Kolkata or MDI. The BFSI and E-Commerce industries have placement rates of 22% and 13%, respectively, according to the MDI Gurgaon placements record for 2022. 55 students from MDI were placed in the Finance sector during the 2021 placement campaign. The greatest CTC available in this industry ranged from 21 to 23 LPA.

You might also think about IIFT Kolkata. In the financial sector, it provides opportunities comparable to those of IIFT Delhi. The leading industry for hiring during the IIFT Kolkata Summer Placements 2021 was BFSI.

What should I prioritize between IIFT Delhi, NMIMS Mumbai, and the new IIMs (IIM Ranchi/Trichy) given my interest in finance and a background in IT spanning 2.5+ years?

I think the positions offered in the finance sector at NMIMS are at least on par with those at IIFT. The institute benefits significantly from its location in Mumbai. Numerous financial firms came to the university during placements.
However, there is intense competition for these places within the class, especially among those who majored in business during their undergraduate studies. Because financial institutions prefer to interview applicants with backgrounds in commerce, it might be challenging for engineers completing an MBA at NM to be shortlisted for financial employment.
