An independent, public business school called the Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (often referred to as IIM Trichy) is situated in Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu, India. The IIM was established on January 4, 2011, making it the eleventh. According to NIRF, it is the fifteenth-best management school. It runs out of a campus that spans 175 acres of land and is located approximately 11 kilometers from Tiruchirappalli International Airport. For executive education, it also operates a satellite campus in Chennai. It provides full-time, executive, and doctorate business management programs.

On 172.27 acres (69.72 ha) of land along the Tiruchirappalli-Pudukkottai highway, the IIM Tiruchirappalli campus can be found.[2] The state-of-the-art complex, which cost 584 crore (US$73 million), includes Executive housing, faculty housing, a library, and recreational facilities. In the year 2012, IIM Tiruchirappalli established a satellite campus in Chennai. It provides working professionals from this campus a two-year postgraduate degree.

Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM)

IIM Tiruchirappalli’s main curriculum is the two-year, full-time Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM). Its fundamental goal is to transform young men and women into qualified professional managers who can operate in any sector of organized activity, exercise leadership, and achieve excellence in performance all while promoting societal welfare.

For the purpose of admission to higher education, the Association of Indian Universities recognizes the Post Graduate Programme in Management as being equal to a Master’s Degree from an Indian University.

Post-Graduate Programme in Management-Human Resources (PGPM-HR)

The IIM Trichy’s first field-specific program, the Post-Graduate Programme in Management-Human Resources (PGPM-HR), is a two-year, full-time residential program that was introduced in 2020. Its fundamental goal is to mold young people into capable HR professionals who can operate in any organized activity sector, provide leadership, and achieve excellence in performance while promoting the welfare of society as a whole. Focusing on the integration of HR and business, digital fluency, ethics and sustainability, human process lab, industrial project, and one-on-one mentorship by industry HR executives are just a few of the program’s distinctive features.

Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM)

The Doctoral Program in Management is a full-time doctoral program that gives students the chance to conduct research in several management-related fields. Admission Process

The IIM Tiruchirappalli admissions procedure takes into account the candidate’s performance in the CAT, performance in the Personal Interview (PI), educational background, gender diversity, and the quality of the candidates’ work experience.

The following list of criteria is what would be used to choose applicants for personal interviews (PI):

A. Selection criteria for candidates for PI

For the purpose of selecting candidates for PI, IIMT will use CAT percentile. The minimum performance required of applicants to be shortlisted for the PI is shown in the table below.

PI Method

The Written Ability Test (WAT) Process is not included in the CAP 2023 Process, as agreed by the CAP Committee. Additionally, the PI would be carried out online. The IIM Udaipur, the organizing institute for the CAP 2023–25 cohort, will announce the precise date for PI on behalf of the nine participating IIMs.

B. The selection criteria for candidates for the Personal Interview (PI):

The criteria and accompanying weights used to calculate each candidate’s composite score will be listed below. This score will be used to create the final merit list for admissions.

Please take note that each heading is also followed by a list of the sub-parameters used:

1. CAT Percentile: 50% of weight is given.

2. Personal interview: 25% of the overall score

3. Verbal Comprehension: 3% of the overall grade The Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension scores from the CAT 2022 will be used to determine the 3% weightages allotted for verbal comprehension.

4. Work experience: 5% weighting (work experience accrued through January 31, 2023 shall be taken into account).

5. Academic Standing in the Tenth Grade: 2 Percent Weightage

6. Academic Standing in the 12th Grade: 3% Weightage

7. Undergraduate performance carries a 5% weighting.

Multiplying the percentage marks earned by the weight assigned to the discipline, as stated below, will get the performance score. Five (%) percent of the resulting score will be taken into account when evaluating the overall performance. [UG performance score = (percentage of UG score*weighted discipline)*0.05]

Differential weighting will be applied to several fields as mentioned below in order to promote diversity in the batch:

Engineering and technology receive a score of 0.7. Arts, science (including pharmacy), commerce, economics, management, and other subjects receive a score of 1.0.

8. Professional Qualification: Passing the CA, ICWA, or CS final examinations carries a 2% weighting.

9. Gender Diversity: Female candidates receive a 5% weighting.
