Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) : Course & Fees, Admission procedure, Rankings, and Placements

An independent research facility called IIT Bombay is situated in Mumbai close to Powai Lake. Its facility is spread out across 545 acres of land. Over 85 courses are offered on the IIT Bombay campus, which has successfully expanded to include 13 academic departments, 34 centres, 17 departments, and 3 schools. IIT Bombay has been ranked third among India’s top engineering colleges by NIRF for 2023. It was well-known for its high return on investment, with an average placement package of INR 23.26 lakhs. The IIT Bombay B Tech curriculum costs roughly INR 9.2 Lakhs in total. According to the QS World University Ranking by Subject 2023, IIT Bombay is rated 47th overall in engineering and technology.

The B Tech program at IIT Bombay is well-known. JEE Advanced Entrance and JoSAA counselling are requirements for applicants seeking admission to the B Tech program. In general, applicants with a rank below 500 have a good chance of being accepted into the B Tech program at IIT Bombay. M Tech, PhD, and MBA are three additional, well-liked IIT Bombay programs. Through its IIT Bombay X platform, IITB also provides a number of online courses.

The Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at IIT Bombay (SINE) has supported and mentored a number of businesses. More than 120 businesses have taken off from SINE to date. In addition, the most firms have been founded at IIT Bombay. Ola Cabs, BookMyShow, Logi, Next, PineLabs, Dream11, Zepto, CleverTap, and other unicorn firms were founded by alumni of IIT Bombay. The SHUNYA team from IIT Bombay recently finished second in the Solar Decathlon Build Challenge in the United States. SHUNYA stands for Sustainable Housing for Urbanizing Nation by its Young Aspirants. A recent 5-day mentorship program for class IX girls was organized by IIT Bombay’s new Wise project, which also promotes opportunities in STEM education.
