An independent research facility called IIT Bombay is situated in Mumbai close to Powai Lake. Its facility is spread out across 545 acres of land. Over 85 courses are offered on the IIT Bombay campus, which has successfully expanded to include 13 academic departments, 34 centres, 17 departments, and 3 schools. IIT Bombay has been ranked third among India’s top engineering colleges by NIRF for 2023. It was well-known for its high return on investment, with an average placement package of INR 23.26 lakhs. Admission procedure

IIT Bombay B.Tech Admissions

Admission to IIT Bombay’s BTech and Integrated B.Tech (B.Tech + M.Tech) programs is based on JEE Advanced exam scores, followed by JoSAA counseling. IIT Bombay provides BTech programs in nine specializations, as well as 12 courses for the Integrated BTech program. The minimum requirement for admission is a 10+2 examination with PCM. Candidates that meet the cut off are offered admission.

IIT Bombay B.Tech Selection Criteria

  • Based on the results of the 12th exam, a merit list for JEE Main and JEE Advanced will be created, detailing candidates’ All India Rank (AIR).
  • Candidates must register for JoSAA counselling online on the JoSSA website. Choice filling and locking are necessary and must be completed entirely by the candidate. Fill out the branch options in decreasing order of preference.

IIT Bombay MTech Admission 2024

IIT Bombay offers MTech and Integrated MTech programs in five different categories, including

A. Teaching Assistantship (TA)/Teaching Assistantship through Project (TAP)/Foundation Awardee (FA): 2 years.
B. Research Assistantship (RA) / Project Research Assistantship (RAP): 3 YearsC. Project Staff: 3 Years
D. Institute Staff: 3 Years
E. Sponsored Candidates: 2/ 3 Years

GATE 2024 exam score is used to determine admission to IIT Bombay M.Tech and Integrated M.Tech (MTech + PhD). Candidates having a B.E/B.Tech degree and a minimum of 60% are eligible to apply for the program.

IIT Bombay M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

  • B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Sc. (Engineering)/ M.Sc./ M.C.A./ MBBS/ M.Pharm./ B.Pharm/ BDS/ recognized equivalent to B.E.
  • This must be obtained by passing the Associate Membership Examinations.
  • The following are the required marks, CGPA, or CPI for the several categories:
  • General category: A minimum of 60% in aggregate or a First Class, or a CGPA/ CPI of 6.0 on a scale of 0-10, or equal to 6.0 on other scales other than 0-10.
  • SC/ ST/ PWD category: 55% aggregate or CGPA/ CP of 5.5 on a scale of 0-10 or equivalent to 5.6 on other scales when the scales are other than 0-10.

IIT Bombay M.Tech Selection Criteria

  • Admission will be given according on the candidate’s GATE performance.
  • Candidates with a B.Tech degree from an IIT and a CGPA/ CPI score of 8.00 (on a 10.0 scale) or higher are exempt from the GATE requirement.
  • They may be admitted to the M.Tech program as TA/RA jobs via written test and/or interview.
  • Candidates will be chosen based on a 70% weightage of GATE scores and a 30% weightage of interviews.
  • The central counselling board of CCMT will determine the cut off for each specialism.

IIT Bombay MBA Admission

Admission to SJMSOM IIT Bombay MBA is based on CAT exam scores, followed by a PI round. A Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree with at least 60% marks is necessary for application.

IIT Bombay MBA Eligibility Criteria

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with at least 60% marks (55% for candidates from the SC/ ST/ PWD categories).
  • Applicants in their last year of study, as well as those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results, are eligible to apply.
  • CA/ ICWA, with a first-class Bachelor’s degree in any discipline and 60% marks (55% for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates) in aggregate (including all years/semesters) or a minimum CPI of 6.5 (6 for ST/ SC/ PWD candidates) out of 10.

IIT Bombay EMBA Admissions

Under the Management discipline, the institute also provides an 18-month Executive MBA program. The curriculum is offered in collaboration with Washington University. The candidate can apply for admission to the IIT Bombay EMBA program with a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. The candidate will be chosen based on the results of the last qualifying exam.

IIT Bombay EMBA Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for admission, EMBA candidates must meet the following requirements-

  • A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized higher education institution

·         +7 years of work experience (after earning the qualifying degree), including five years of managerial or comparable experience

·         Extensive knowledge of both spoken and written English

·         Functional computer abilities,

·         LOR from their company with a commitment to support them, or self-employed with the means to pay necessary tuition and fees;

·         Passed a comprehensive admissions interview focusing on leadership and teamwork experience and potential.

IIT Bombay EMBA Selection Criteria

To get admitted, candidates must participate in the interview process. Candidates will be evaluated using the following criteria:

  • Academic credentials
  • English proficiency as demonstrated by entrance interview performance and/or valid TOEFL/IELTS scores. Optional TOEFL/IELTS scores may be emailed to the program office along with any supporting papers.
  • Work experience quality: type of responsibilities and managerial experience
  • Leadership experience, evidence of professional success/track record
  • Communication abilities
  • Willingness to learn and engage in the program
  • Application and accompanying documentation quality
  • The majority of applicants are not needed to provide CAT, GMAT, or GRE scores. Individuals who must demonstrate mastery of required quantitative skills are granted an exception.

IIT Bombay B.Des Admission

Admission to IIT Bombay B.Des is based on UCEED results. Candidates with a 10+2 diploma in any subject are eligible to apply. The program’s typical threshold spans between 1 and 21 UCEED scores.

IIT Bombay M.Des Admissions

M.Des degrees in Animation Design, Communication Design, nteraction Design, Industrial Design, and Mobility & Vehicle Design are available from IIT Bombay’s School of Design. The minimum prerequisite for applying is a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. The CEED test score is used to select applicants for the M.Des program at IIT Bombay.

IIT Bombay M.Des Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should be qualified with these given below:

·         10+2+4 years for a Bachelor’s Degree in Design/Engineering/Architecture/Interior Design.

·         Bachelor of Fine Arts (4-year professional program with entrance after 10+2)

IIT Bombay M.Des Selection Criteria

  • Admission to the M.Des program at IIT-B will be based on the CEED (Common Entrance Exam for Design) score, which will be followed by a written exam administered by the institute.
  • For each stream students, the admission process consists of both a written test and an interview. Attendance at both the written test and the interview is required to be considered for admission. The written test may include a material/studio test, which will be sent to applicants who have been selected to take the written test and interview.
  • Each written test and interview will consist of 100 marks. Following the written test and interview, a category-wise final merit list will be generated using the final scores. The final results would be 70% of the CEED score plus 15% for written tests and 15% for interviews.
  • Admission would be granted from this list will be based on the number of seats available in each category. The final merit list would be subject to a cutoff known as the Final merit list cutoff. This equates to 50 for General and EWS, 45 for OBC(NC) (i.e. 90% of GENERAL), and 33 for SC/ST/PwD (i.e. 2/3 of GENERAL).

IIT Bombay B.Sc Admission

IIT Bombay provides Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Humanities and Social Sciences. Admission to the IIT Bombay B.Sc program is based on JEE Advanced scores; nevertheless, 10+2 qualification in the relevant stream is essential for the application procedure.

IIT Bombay B.Sc Selection Criteria

University of Mumbai Placements for the incoming class of 2022-23 are now underway. However, according to a press statement dated December 1, 2022, the first step of the placement procedure is now complete. The following are the highlights of the placement drive:

  • The highest domestic package offers in IIT Bombay placements Phase 1 remained INR 3.67 Crore.
  • The highest international offered was 1.31 Crore.
  • The median package offered to IIT Bombay B Tech students was 18.80 Lakhs
  • For IIT Delhi M Tech and MBA program median package in 2023 placements were INR 14.76 Lakhs and INR 25.76 Lakhs respectively.
