Admission

A prestigious business school in India, Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB), is a part of Symbiosis International University (SIU). SIIB, based in Pune, Maharashtra, was founded in 1992 and has become well-known for its emphasis on global trade, business, and related fields. Noting that my knowledge only extends through September 2021, it should be noted that my information may be dated.

A part of Symbiosis International University is the Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB). SIIB Pune offers an MBA with several specialization options, including those in energy and the environment, agribusiness, and international business. The MBA-IB program is the institute’s signature offering. There are 210 seats altogether for the various MBA specializations, including 120 for the MBA (IB), 60 for the MBA (AB), and 30 for the MBA (E&E). Admission to SIIB for 2023–25 has started. The Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP), administered by the institution, is the means of admission to the SIIB Pune MBA program. The deadline for SNAP registration is November 24, 2022. The GE-PI-WAT method, which involves Group Exercise, Personal Interview, and Written Ability Test, will ultimately determine the candidate.

Foreign applicants may also submit an application for admission to SIIB’s MBA program. Candidates must be in possession of a current passport and visa. English Proficiency Testing is required for international students. The student might choose to take the IELA or IELTS exam. The Week 2021 placed SIIB Pune at number 22 for Best B-School among the top 100 B-Schools in India. The institute also collaborates with numerous foreign institutions, including the Berlin School of Economics and Law (BSEL), the Flensburg University of Applied Sciences, the Dauphine University in Paris, Leeds Beckett University in the United Kingdom, the Leibniz University Hannover, the RUDN University in Russia, and the University of British Columbia in Canada, among others.

SIIB MBA Admission

The MBA-International Business (IB), MBA-Agri-Business (AB), and MBA-Energy and Environment (E&E) are the three 2-year specialized MBA programs offered by SIIB. The MBA (IB) has a 120-person intake capacity, compared to 60 and 30 for the MBA (AB) and MBA (E&E).

SIIB MBA Eligibility

  • Candidates must hold a graduate degree with at least 50% overall or an equivalent grade (45% for candidates who are members of SC or ST).
  • Final-year students may also apply, but their admission will only be provisional and contingent upon receiving at least 50% in the qualifying test or an equivalent grade (45% for SC/ST applicants).

Eligibility for Foreign/NRI Candidates 

  • For Postgraduate programs, candidates must have received a graduation qualifying grade of at least 60%.
  • In addition, they must have taken the IELA Test or an IELTS test administered by the British Council with a minimum band score of three or six.
  • Foreign applicants, NRIs, PIOs, and OCIs need to have current passports and visas.

NOTE – 

1. A candidate must get an equivalence certificate from AIU if they have earned a qualifying degree from any foreign university.

2. When requesting provisional admission, candidates must affirm that they meet the admissions requirements.

3. Students having any backlogs or failures in their final exams will not be permitted to enroll.

SIIB MBA Selection Criteria

  • The Symbiosis Institute of International Business selects applicants who will receive a passing score on the SNAP exam. Learn more about the SNAP syllabus and pattern.
  • The shortlisted candidates must show up for the GE-PI-WAT process for selection after being shortlisted.
  • The SIIB Pune campus is the location of the GE-PI-WAT process.
  • The results of the SNAP test plus how well candidates performed in the GE, PI, and WAT rounds make up the final selection.
  • The institute will email those who were chosen to let them know they had been chosen.

How To Apply

Two steps make up the selection procedure.

Step I: SNAP Exam: All applicants to SIIB, Pune must take the Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test, a written exam required for admission to all Symbiosis postgraduate institutions. Log on to http://www.snaptest.org to learn more about the SNAP Test and to register. Obtain your SNAP-ID, then register with and pay for the institution using SNAP. Keep the SNAP Test admit card for use in the SIIB, Pune, recruitment process. An applicant does not automatically advance to the next round of the SIIB, Pune selection procedure simply by showing up for the SNAP Test.

Step 2: GEPIWAT in Pune at SIIB: Short-listed candidates would be contacted for the subsequent selection process at SIIB, Pune, based on their SNAP results. According to the scheduled dates, a web link on the SIIB Pune website will announce the results of those who have been shortlisted or have not. Only at PUNE will the complete selection procedure take place. Group Exercise, Personal Interview, and Written Ability Test (GE-PIWAT) are all part of this process.

Selection Criteria for NRI students

  • Graduation Transcripts – 80% weightage

How to Apply for MBA Course?

Candidates who are interested in applying for admission to SIIB Pune must first sign up for the SNAP exam before enrolling in the MBA program. The following is a list of the procedures:

  1. Visit the official website of SIIB Pune.
  2. Click on the “Apply” tab.
  3. After that click on the “Register” tab.
  4. Fill in all the details and click on the “Submit” button.
  5. Pay the INR 1750 registration cost for the SNAP Test following successful registration.
  6. Next, use your SNAP ID and password to enrol for the institute’s course (SIIB, Pune MBA).
  7. Fill in all the required details
  8. Finally, pay the INR 1950 application cost for the specialization you want.

Eligibility:
a. The semester’s top student will get a scholarship in accordance with the amended rules, with a minimum GPA of 7.50.
b. Only students who have successfully completed the courses required for the relevant program will be eligible for the Merit Scholarship award. In other words, there should be no backlog.
c. The University’s merit scholarship recipient is not prohibited from receiving a stipend or other financial aid from other sources. However, if the student receives a stipend or financial aid from another source, he or she must inform the SIU office of Student Affairs through the Institute.
d. For the purpose of awarding merit scholarships, the parents’ or guardians’ income is unrestricted.

f. A student who is the semester’s best student and has a cumulative grade point average of 7.5 or higher is eligible for a 50% tuition fee remission for postgraduate study in international business.
