The eligibility requirements for the CMAT examination are set in the National Testing Agency (NTA) in accordance with the guidelines of AICTE. Because CMAT is a Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is conducted to determine the eligibility for admission to MBA and PGDM programs, applicants have to meet certain academic standards prior to submitting their applications.

Applicants who are planning to sit for CMAT 2027 must have completed their graduation or a comparable qualification. The test does not need a minimum percentage of graduation to take. Students who completed education within the 10+2+3 pattern of education can take the national-level management entrance exam.

CMAT 2027 registration process: CMAT 2027 application process will start with the month of October in 2026. The interested candidates can submit their application on the official NTA website. CMAT Eligibility Criteria 2027

Candidates who wish to appear for the CMAT 2027 exam must satisfy certain eligibility requirements set by the exam authorities. These criteria mainly relate to nationality, educational qualification, and other basic conditions that determine whether a candidate can apply for the exam.

Nationality Candidates must be residents/citizens of India.
Educational Qualification Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree of at least three years duration in any discipline from a recognized university or an institution approved by AICTE.
Final Year Students Students currently in the final year of their graduation are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their degree within the same academic year.
Minimum Percentage There is no minimum percentage required to appear for the CMAT 2027 exam. Candidates only need to have passed their graduation.
MBA College Requirement Most MBA colleges accepting CMAT scores generally require at least 50% marks in graduation (45% for reserved category candidates) during the admission process.
Age Limit There is no upper or lower age limit for appearing in the CMAT 2027 exam.

CMAT Reservation Criteria 2027

The CMAT exam itself does not provide any direct reservation benefits. However, MBA and PGDM colleges that accept CMAT scores follow the reservation policies set by the Government of India during the admission process.

To avail reservation benefits, candidates must mention the appropriate category they belong to (such as SC, ST, OBC, or PwD) while filling out the CMAT 2027 application form.

CMAT Reservation Policy for MBA Admissions

AICTE-approved institutes offering MBA or PGDM programs reserve seats for different categories according to government guidelines. The typical reservation structure followed by most institutions is given below:

CMAT Reservations for Persons with Disabilities (PwD)

Candidates with 40% or more disability are eligible to apply under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category. The disabilities considered for reservation include the following:

  • Low vision or blindness
  • Hearing impairment (deaf or hard of hearing)
  • Locomotor disabilities such as cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims, or muscular dystrophy
  • Autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, specific learning disability, or mental illness
  • Multiple disabilities involving any of the above conditions
  • Other disabilities listed under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016

Candidates are allowed to modify their category in the CMAT application form until the final submission date. After the deadline, changes to the category will not be permitted.

CMAT Eligibility for Scribe or Reader Facility

Candidates with certain disabilities such as blindness, cerebral palsy, or severe locomotor disability affecting both arms may request a scribe, reader, or lab assistant for the CMAT exam.

Scribe Facility Guidelines Details
Request Requirement Candidates must submit a written request along with a valid disability certificate issued by an authorized medical authority.
Scribe Appointment The Test Centre Superintendent appoints the scribe, who should be at least one academic level lower than the candidate.
Verification Candidates may meet the assigned scribe a day before the exam to verify suitability.
Extra Time Candidates using a scribe are provided an additional 60 minutes beyond the standard CMAT exam duration.
