IIMs OBC Seats

Admission to an IIM is extremely competitive. The majority of Indian Institutes of Management adhere to the reservation guidelines that is set out by the Government of India. Knowing the number of seats available under the OBC category will help applicants evaluate their chances of being admitted more accurately.

India today has an IIM network of 21 that collectively provide more than 5,500 MBA places. After applying reservation guidelines in categories like OBC, SC, and ST approximately 3400 seats remain general (general) grouping. Admission into IIMs is mostly based on your performance on the Common Admission Test (CAT) which is followed by the subsequent screening stages.

According to Government of India norms, 800plus places across the IIMs have been reserved to OBC applicants. Candidates who have an OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate are entitled to the benefits of reservation, which could enhance their chances of being admitted. (Seat numbers could vary slightly from each year.)
