CAT Application Form 2024: Registration Details & Trends
The first week of August will be when the CAT 2024 registration window opens. The CAT application window will remain open till the second week of September 2024. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria can access the CAT registration form online at the IIM CAT website at iimcat.ac.in. More than 3.5 lakh applicants are expected to register for CAT this year. Out of 3.28 lakh eligible registrants, about 2.88 lakh appeared for CAT last year. The attendance rate was about 88%.
All information regarding CAT registration will be included in the official supplementary notice. IIM will close the CAT registration window and open the CAT application correction window.
Since the IIMs variably administer the CAT, the exam is expected to be conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta in 2024. The application window for the Cat entrance exam is likely to open in the first week of August 2024. Enrollment last year was the highest since the CAT entrance exam was launched in 1977. Before this, enrollment in CAT had never exceeded three million in its history.
Eighty-eight percent of those enrolled took CAT last year of which 35% were female, 65% were male and 4 were transgender candidates. Additionally, the number of women applying for CAT increased last year. In total, 1.17 million women were registered candidates.

CAT REGISTRATION 2025 – ELIGIBILITY
Failure to fulfill CAT eligibility requirements will cancel the candidate’s candidature. Consequently, candidates are encouraged to prove their eligibility before applying. To apply for CAT 2024, you have to fulfill the following requirements.
- Candidates must hold a three-year bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited university, with a cumulative GPA of 50% for those in the general category and 45% for those in the SC/ST/PwD categories.
- No prior experience is necessary.
- There is no minimum age to apply
- Final-year candidates may also apply as long as they turn in their pass certificate by the deadline.

CAT REGISTRATION FORM FEES 2025
Candidates have to pay the CAT exam fee in addition to filling out the CAT application form. Based on the previous year’s results, all candidates in the class have to pay Rs. 2400, while those belonging to reserved categories (SC, ST, and PWD) will have to pay Rs. 1200.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR CAT 2025 STEP BY STEP?
Candidates are advised to follow the instructions below to complete the application process seamlessly, from registration to payment. Actions to be taken:
Step 1: First, candidates must visit the CAT 2025 official website, i.e. iim CAT Registration Tab.
Step 2: Next, candidates need to click on the “New Candidate Registration” button on the right side of the CAT 2025 official website.
Step 3: It will carry the applicant to the “CAT 2025 registration” page. From there, all the applying candidates will have to enter the below essential details such as :
- Name of the Candidate
- Country
- Date of Birth
- Email Address
- Mobile Number
- Captcha
Step 4: After entering all the required details, candidates should now click on the “Generate OTP” button. The OTP will be sent to the candidate’s registered mail ID. By using the OTP, candidates will have to complete their CAT 2025 registration process.
step 5: Then candidates need to log in to the candidate’s dashboard and fill out the CAT application form 2025 with the required details:
- Personal Details
- Emergency Contact Details
- Other Personal Details
- Communication Address
- Upload Documents (in a prescribed format and size in the application form)
Step 6: Fill in all the academic qualification details of SSC/ Class 10, HSC/ Class 12, Bachelor’s Degree Details, Master’s Degree Details, and all of the Other Professional Degree Details that the candidate holds.
Step 7: Once the above process is fully done, the candidates now need to enter the work experience details if they have any.
Step 8: candidates should now Enter other personal details, communication details, and emergency contact details and upload all the required documents in the prescribed format.
Step 9: Select the work experience details if candidates hold any, IIM Programmes & Interview Cities. Choose any six preferred CAT 2025 test cities for your CAT exam.
Step 10: The final process of the CAT 2025 registration is to make the payment application fee which needs to be paid only through the online mode:
- For General Category Candidates: Rs 2400/-
- For SC/ ST/ PwD: Rs 1200/-
