DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CLASSIC AND FOCUS EDITION GMAT EXAM
CLASSIC EDITION EXAM
Candidates can complete the computer-based, English-only Classic GMAT exam in three hours and seven minutes. With a score range of 200–800, it consists of 80 questions divided into four portions. Parts 1 through 5 of the Classic GMAT are as follows:
- Questions like data sufficiency and geometry are included in quantitative reasoning.
- Sentence correction is included in verbal reasoning.
- Integrated reasoning is absent from the traditional GMAT.
- Evaluation of analytical writing: A section on essays
On February 1, 2024, the GMAT Focus Edition took the role of the Classic GMAT. Only multiple-choice questions and a redesign characterize the Focus Edition. It is divided into three sections: data insights, verbal reasoning, and quantitative reasoning. The Focus Edition includes a range of scores from 205 to 805, with 60 to 90 for each area.
FOCUS EDITION EXAM
The GMAT Focus Edition is a condensed and modified version of the Graduate Management Test (GMAT) that evaluates competencies related to business and management courses. It is intended to make the test-taking process less daunting, more approachable, and more focused. Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Data Insights are the three 45-minute portions that make up the 2 hours and 15-minute GMAT Focus Edition. There is no writing component to the exam’s 64 questions.
The Critical Reasoning, Problem-Solving, Data Sufficiency, Logic, and Analysis skills are tested on the GMAT Focus Edition. Your ability to analyze and understand data in a variety of formats, spot trends, come to conclusions, and resolve business issues is evaluated in the Data Insights section. A minimum score of 60 and a maximum score of 805 are assigned to each segment, and a minimum score of 205 is assigned to the test.
