The CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) exam in 2024 is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to various management programs approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The full name for the CMAT exam is Common Management Admission Test (CMAT). It is a government-organized computer-based national MBA entrance exam for admission to 1000 AICTE-approved management programs (MBA/PGDM) across India. Until 2018, CMAT was administered by AICTE. The National Testing Authority (NTA) established by the Government of India now administers the test. Each year, over 70,000 candidates apply for the CMAT. CMAT provides a unique opportunity to all test takers because no one is disqualified by the results. The exam typically assesses candidates in areas such as Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, and General Awareness.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Students in their final year of a bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) can also apply.
- There is no age limit for applying to the CMAT exam.
Selection Procedure:
- Qualifying the CMAT exam with the required cutoff marks.
- Participating in the further selection rounds conducted by individual institutes, such as Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI), and Written Ability Test (WAT).
Registration Process
The CMAT 2024 Registration & Application process is online and will remain open for more than a month after the start date of CMAT registration on the NTA website. CMAT registration will close at 11.50 p.m. on the final application deadline. To complete the CMAT registration 2024, follow these five steps:
Step 1: Create a login at https://cmat.nta.nic.in/.
Step 2: Complete the CMAT Registration 2024 form.
Step 3: Upload images to Registration Form 2024.
Step 4: Pay the registration fee.
Step 5: View registration summary and save the completed form.
Syllabus
- The CMAT syllabus 2024 has been revised, with the addition of a fifth section on innovation and entrepreneurship. Despite an increase in the number of CMAT exam sections, the total number of questions has been reduced to 100 from 125 previously.
- The CMAT Exam now has five sections with 100 questions each, as opposed to 125 questions previously.
- Each section contains 20 MCQ type questions with +4 marks for each correct answer.
- The syllabus for each of the five CMAT exam sections is comparable to other top MBA entrance exams.
- The CMAT syllabus covers all the important topics on which questions are based in each section.
